“Oh, who is this person that stands here before you?
And why pay attention?” you ask.
Well, I’m nobody special and fairly new here,
Within the Darkwood
‘Twas nine seasons ago I first ventured among you
Oh so timidly sneaking about
I tried quite a while for a low profile
Within the Darkwood
Warm is their welcome, with hearts open wide
Deep in the Darkwood, grace and laughter reside.
Soon my father and I were intrigued and adopted
They seemed mostly harmless, I thought
But their smiles were contagious, and so we were lost
Within the Darkwood
Oh I helped where I could, did my best to be useful
Just wanting to give something back
And before I knew it I ran Water and Lists,
Within the Darkwood
Warm is their welcome, with hearts open wide
Deep in the Darkwood, grace and laughter reside.
My friends in the Oaks are possessed of great talents
So man, it’s hard to keep track
Their mountains of service made mine seem a hill
Within the Darkwood
So whatever the need, you can count upon Darkwood
There’s nothing these people can’t do
I can’t do many things, but at least I can sing
Within the Darkwood
Warm is their welcome, with hearts open wide
Deep in the Darkwood, grace and laughter reside.
A&S rolled around, I still didn’t feel ready
Competitions aren’t really my thing
But I tried really hard and now I’m your Bard
Oh thank you, Darkwood!
